Heavier wall tubing and stonger 4140 steeel castings than OEM or retubed forks. 3 pounds heavier than OEM. Upper and Lower Fork Trees,along with the 4 Fork Links, and the FT227 screws, are heat treated 4140 chromoly to Rockwell 40C.

The OEM Girder is 8 1/2#'s, mine is 10 3/4#'s.Lost Wax, 4140 Chromoly steel castings give great detail and strength and are more dense than sand castings. The DOM, 7/8' swaged to 5/8' rear tubes and the DOM, 3/4' swaged to 5/8' front tubes have significantly thicker wallsand weigh more than the 1/16' walled OEM tubes. Unfinished parts or unfinished parts kits are not available for sale. No need to inquire.FT208TS BRAMPTON REPLACEMENT FORK TUBES - $200 set of 4 tubes DOM tubing (seamless). Slightly longer than OEM. Original tubes are often heavily rusted on the inside. Front tubes, end shown on the left, have a 3/32' wall thickness, thicker on the ends.

They are 3/4' swaged to 5/8'. Original front tubes have a 1/16' wall thickness. Rear tubes, end shown on the right, are bent to shape and have a 1/8' wall thickness, thicker on the ends. The FT124 Headrace Cones actually fit in these. The 2 older UK made versions I have (easily recognised by the lack of the 2 each, 3/16' punch holes on top) are not even dimensionally close. One of the very few fully machined parts I will ever manufacture. No one else is making them and they are essential in supplying a complete Brampton Fork Assy.FT232 - BRAMPTON STEERING DAMPER NUT ASSY. All steel construction. Heat treated 2 3/8' cone shaped washer (which rotates freely). Another one of those parts that are not available from any source we could find.

I got an annoying distorted sound in my Black Beauty of a SV236.It began after 5-6 years of normal use, and affected both channels, but not evenly. It became worse over some time, but could disappear at higher Levels. Sometimes it was quite fine for some periods.Okay, I ordered a new set of tubes, replaced them and put on my newest CD with David Gilmore.That was some letdown. The distorsion was all over again, and David's guitar was coughing.Once again I took my SV236 to the bench and dismantled the covers, connected a scope and monitored it over some time using sinewave, sawtooth and square signals.I found out that if I pushed the Loudness button it could be fine for a long time, but then suddenly the distorsion came back. The sine wave looked as someone was blowing at it right beneath the right top of the curve, making turbulence with the downgoing beam.Right, as the problem seemed to be affected by the Loudness, I replaced the 12V signal relay behind the Volume pot motor (yes it's inside the black metal housing).This was not doing any change, but after a round with my upsidedown screwdriver tapping Components from the front to the back of the printed circuit boards, I came to the speaker output relays.

And then, when tapping these relays, I realized that I was mislead all the time, this was not a common left/right side problem, but two individual relays failing at the same matter and time. OK they were probably twins, but seriously.Long story short: My SV236 plays clean again, with two new output relays setting me back some 15$.I'm happy again. And David's guitar is crying again.

The OEM Girder is 8 1/2#\'s, mine is 10 3/4#\'s.Lost Wax, 4140 Chromoly steel castings give great detail and strength and are more dense than sand castings. The DOM, 7/8\' swaged to 5/8\' rear tubes and the DOM, 3/4\' swaged to 5/8\' front tubes have significantly thicker wallsand weigh more than the 1/16\' walled OEM tubes. One of the very few fully machined parts I will ever manufacture. I got an annoying distorted sound in my Black Beauty of a SV236.It began after 5-6 years of normal use, and affected both channels, but not evenly. It became worse over some time, but could disappear at higher Levels. Sometimes it was quite fine for some periods.Okay, I ordered a new set of tubes, replaced them and put on my newest CD with David Gilmore.That was some letdown. The distorsion was all over again, and David\'s guitar was coughing.Once again I took my SV236 to the bench and dismantled the covers, connected a scope and monitored it over some time using sinewave, sawtooth and square signals.I found out that if I pushed the Loudness button it could be fine for a long time, but then suddenly the distorsion came back. The sine wave looked as someone was blowing at it right beneath the right top of the curve, making turbulence with the downgoing beam.Right, as the problem seemed to be affected by the Loudness, I replaced the 12V signal relay behind the Volume pot motor (yes it\'s inside the black metal housing).This was not doing any change, but after a round with my upsidedown screwdriver tapping Components from the front to the back of the printed circuit boards, I came to the speaker output relays.

And then, when tapping these relays, I realized that I was mislead all the time, this was not a common left/right side problem, but two individual relays failing at the same matter and time. OK they were probably twins, but seriously.Long story short: My SV236 plays clean again, with two new output relays setting me back some 15$.I\'m happy again. And David\'s guitar is crying again.

    The OEM Girder is 8 1/2#\'s, mine is 10 3/4#\'s.Lost Wax, 4140 Chromoly steel castings give great detail and strength and are more dense than sand castings. The DOM, 7/8\' swaged to 5/8\' rear tubes and the DOM, 3/4\' swaged to 5/8\' front tubes have significantly thicker wallsand weigh more than the 1/16\' walled OEM tubes. One of the very few fully machined parts I will ever manufacture. No one else is making them and they are essential in supplying a complete Brampton Fork Assy.FT232 - BRAMPTON STEERING DAMPER NUT ASSY. All steel construction. Heat treated 2 3/8\' cone shaped washer (which rotates freely). Another one of those parts that are not available from any source we could find.

I got an annoying distorted sound in my Black Beauty of a SV236.It began after 5-6 years of normal use, and affected both channels, but not evenly. It became worse over some time, but could disappear at higher Levels. Sometimes it was quite fine for some periods.Okay, I ordered a new set of tubes, replaced them and put on my newest CD with David Gilmore.That was some letdown. The distorsion was all over again, and David\'s guitar was coughing.Once again I took my SV236 to the bench and dismantled the covers, connected a scope and monitored it over some time using sinewave, sawtooth and square signals.I found out that if I pushed the Loudness button it could be fine for a long time, but then suddenly the distorsion came back. The sine wave looked as someone was blowing at it right beneath the right top of the curve, making turbulence with the downgoing beam.Right, as the problem seemed to be affected by the Loudness, I replaced the 12V signal relay behind the Volume pot motor (yes it\'s inside the black metal housing).This was not doing any change, but after a round with my upsidedown screwdriver tapping Components from the front to the back of the printed circuit boards, I came to the speaker output relays.

    And then, when tapping these relays, I realized that I was mislead all the time, this was not a common left/right side problem, but two individual relays failing at the same matter and time. OK they were probably twins, but seriously.Long story short: My SV236 plays clean again, with two new output relays setting me back some 15$.I\'m happy again. And David\'s guitar is crying again.
